SARA’S HOUSE

Sara’s House is a key site in downtown Hamilton on the corner of High and Third that was empty and dilapidated. The Hamilton CORE Fund, under an operations agreement with Community Design Alliance, planned, designed, bid, and constructed (as general contractor) the renovations of the exterior envelope as a new downtown historic landmark. The project also identified a new tenant (Sara’s House) for the ground floor storefront, which has enjoyed commercial success as a boutique home décor and gift shop.  The shop features new wood flooring, soaring ceilings with original reclaimed pressed tin tiles and a sliding barn door repurposed from the Dingeldein’s historic carriage house.  With help from CDA, Sara and Dave have since fully renovated the upper floors of this building as a new home for their family and purchased the building to firmly plant their roots in Hamilton.
