COMMUNITY DESIGN ALLIANCE
About: Originally designed by Mike and Cindy for SHP in 2010, this storefront office located in downtown Hamilton’s Mercantile Block on High St has continued to evolve since becoming the home of Community Design Alliance in January 2013. The office was the first completed space in the Mercantile project and is an anchor of the downtown revitalization movement. The project received a LEED Silver designation and utilizes many green materials including a cork floor, recycled glass countertop and sensor lighting to name just a few. An effective use of existing and new furniture, the CDA office is a true example of successful office design on a budget. The exposed original tin ceiling, glass partitions and light shelf, contemporary finishes and warm colors creates a space that never fails to impress first time visitors. Working in this space feels like home to the entire CDA team.
