Lane Library Oxford Interior

What We Did

The Lane Libraries provide materials, services and technology throughout Hamilton, Fairfield, and Oxford.

During their careers, Mike and Cindy have partnered with the Lane system on numerous projects. Mike led the SHP design team through the design process for the Oxford Lane Library. Upon retiring from SHP, Mike (CDA) was hired by the Lane Public Library Board to fill the role of Owner’s Representative, working with library staff, architect of record, site developer, library patrons, general contractor, and the City of Oxford to a successful outcome by managing multiple interests toward a common goal.

Cindy and SHP interior designer Patti Sumner worked in partnership over the years on many interiors projects, including the renovation of the historic Hamilton location, the new Fairfield branch, and the original Oxford branch, as well as the interiors of the Lane Administrative Center.

Since forming CDA, Cindy has continued her relationship with the Lane system including interior and furniture upgrades, reupholstery and color selections and restroom improvements. CDA also provided complete architectural and interior design services on for the Lane Community Technology Center.

CDA currently is the Architect of Record for a new branch location for the Lane Public Library. The new 21,750 square foot facility will be located on 7 acres near the intersection of Hamilton Mason and Gilmore Roads in Fairfield Township. The design concept is one of "building as a path,” which allows a patron to experience the building itself as a path rather than simply a circulation path within the building. In addition, sustainability and outdoor program space are key priorities.
