What We Did

Community Design Alliance is also home to the Consortium for Ongoing Reinvestment Efforts (Hamilton CORE Fund)

Originally designed by the Dingeldeins as the SHP Hamilton Office, it became the home of CDA and the Hamilton CORE Fund in 2012 and has continued to evolve into a hub of community design and collaboration. Located in the Mercantile Block, originally the space was literally a shell of its former glory with a floor that had fallen into the basement. We had the vision to turn it into a light filled, LEED Silver certified, office that never fails to elicit positive comments from the many clients and community volunteers that visit. The project includes 12 workstations, conference room, collaboration area, workroom, kitchen, restrooms, and materials library. There was an extensive reuse of existing furniture in combination with new items. An example of this philosophy is the conference room table which made use of an existing metal base with a new top made of wood from the former bleachers at Hamilton Taft High School.
